Provide regular advice and briefing to the Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and the wider Shadow Health Team including preparing for parliamentary debates, media appearances and speeches. Responsible for developing Labour Party health policy by working with grassroots members, politicians and stakeholders and running the Health and Social care section of the National Policy Forum, Labour’s policy platform. Writing regular reports, launching consultations for stakeholders and holding evidence sessions with experts across the health sector. Producing campaign materials for general, local and mayoral elections. Worked on the 2017 snap General Election, contributing the manifesto writing process, and drafting sections on the NHS, Social Care and Mental Health in the Labour Party Policy Guide, used by candidates and members to prepare for hustings, debates and campaigning. Organising and producing materials for press conferences, notably during the general election when I produced a dossier on the state of the NHS used in a high-level press conference with the Leader of the Opposition and the Shadow Secretary of State.
