  Working on behalf of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) Cath is responsible for delivering the SPT Safety Verification Scheme and safety assurance plans, both of which she created. The role includes the management of the Independent Competent Person and is aimed at SPT successfully gaining revised safety certificate and safety authorisation to operate the new driverless trains in the Glasgow subway network.Coupled with the safety assurance works cath manages the technical assurance and integration on behalf of the client. Cath works with the Joint Venture designing and implementing the new trains, control and communications system to ensure the project technical and safety deliverables are provided at the correct time in the project life cycle.A critical element to the coordination of the technical and safety assurance is ensuring the new control and communication system are introduced in a safe manner with no disruptions to the current operation. To support this Cath coordinates the new works assessments with the operator internal teams through the change management process. Show less

On completion of her degree she worked with Laing Civil Engineering ultimately becoming the Project Engineer on the Coppermills Ozonation plant in London.
