She gained recognition as a worldwide research diver, which led her to work with the National Marine Fisheries, as a Research Assistant for NOAA, and allowed her to receive a scholarship to University of Hawaii for Marine Science. Her track record in the field also led to her becoming a lead scientist for the National Geographic Society. With over 3,000 logged dives and her conservation efforts for marine life, Cat has established herself has one of the world's top wildlife photographers, filmmakers and speakers, winning several national awards including nomination to the Women Divers Hall of Fame. She was the first to capture incredible images of white sharks breaching off the coasts of California and Australia. She has free dived with white sharks, and has also dived with mako, great hammerheads, bull sharks, six gill, tiger sharks, and numerous other species. Cat was also the first to film and photograph six gill sharks. In 2001, Cat and Jeff Kurr formed Shark Entertainment, Inc. which produced Discovery Channel’s highest rated, and most popular documentaries of all time, “Air Jaws” and “Air Jaws 2;" still the highest rated programming on the network.   I have created a whole new sport, excitement and unexplored territory. A newfound confidence and the all around improvement of their fitness level through this aerial arts concept that utilizes resistance training.   Poleates was a pole studio that was one of the first in California and in the country to offer Pole-Dancing classes to the mainstream public as a form of fitness in May 2006. With in a few years, it grew to offering classes in Aerial Hoop, Silks, Pilates, Burlesque, BootCamp, and Pilates. As one of the 10 finalists, Cat Gennaro a pioneer competing in the first Pole-Dance National Competition in 2008 held by USPDF. Cat took first in the East meets West Competition, has competed nationally, and judged international competitions, along with 2 world tours. Cat has branded a concept of Aerial and Fabric into one apparatus called Pole-Aria. "I have used many props over the years in pole classes to add an artistic approach for routines, such as straps, silks, and elastic". Also, incorporating a chairs, blindfolds, etc. to add to a new challenge for my members. Pole-Aria was demonstrated at the Pole-Expo in Sept. 2012, in Vegas. I have began a training program and I am constantly learning new moves and ways to use the fabric along with pole moves and dance. I have now introduced Pole-Aria to over 6 countries, and have 12 Master instructors, along with many other Beginner/Intermediate certified Pole-Aria Instructors. I am partnered with LilMynx in the design ( Pole-Aria kit) and also endorsed through Bad Kitty, which also sells Pole-Aria.
