  I worked at KaVoKerr Group as a Complaint Coordinator in which I evaluated returned product. These products are dental consumables and include curing lights, cements, composites and more. The evaluations are used to determine if a complaint from a customer is confirmed or unconfirmed and is further used to determine if specific complaint trends are present. If a reoccurring complaint indicates the product may be defective, corrective action may be taken. Each complaint is also reviewed to ensure no patients were involved and if so, a more thorough investigation may be completed.

  I interned as an investigative aid for the Deputy-Coroners and I occasionally assisted them in the field. I answered phone calls from families and educated them about Coroner procedure, as well as medical staff and local law enforcement who are reporting field deaths which may fall under Coroner jurisdiction according to California state law. I have collected, inventoried and booked evidence such as prescription medicines, ligatures, drug paraphernalia, etc. I have summarized medical records and police/fire department reports for case reports and generated case numbers for faxed death certificates. I have also shadowed in different sections of the OC Crime Lab and assisted with autopsies. I was also involved in the verification process of alcohol breath analyzers to ensure their accuracy of detecting alcohol concentration levels.

  I assisted in a microbiology lab with Dr. Hope A. Johnson. We cultured Leptolyngbya spp. which is a group of photosynthetic bacteria in both liquid and solid media. We used several metals at specific concentrations to determine variations in cone morphology. I also worked with fluorescence and confocal microscopy to observe the viability of our cultures.
