When I joined UCAS I was very new to the world of software engineering, and felt overwhelmed. Cat offered to mentor myself and another new apprentice, and I feel I gained valuable knowledge from our sessions together. As an apprentice I was initially hesitant to ask him questions to take up his time, as he was an SSE; but he was more than willing to take a moment out of his day to catch up with me and see how I was getting on. Having a mentor is very important as a newcomer to software engineering, and Cat was a great mentor for me.

I worked with Catalin in the same group when we were formulating the UCAS test automation strategy. I found him to be very insightful, knowledgeable and always willing to go the extra mile. His work on the ui automation test framework has been incredible. It is now adopted by all scrum teams in UCAS. On top of that, he’s just a very pleasant guys to work with. You’ll be missed at UCAS.
