Cass has been an integral part of the En Pointe Events team for the past two years. After impressing us with her work ethic, commitment and problem-solving capacity, Cass became part of our small, full time permanent team in early 2019. Her official role was Event Coordinator and Logistics Manager and she also contributed to major event planning include Melbourne Fashion Week, the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, World’s Longest Lunch and large-scale property events. An operational virtuoso with a command of each tiny detail, Cass is a logistics whiz. During her time with En Pointe Events she oversaw recruitment of our casual work force, managed our interns and warehouse team and worked on the complex, unglamorous but integral hands on side to events – packing vans, sourcing props, liaising with suppliers, being prepared for the unexpected and working big hours. Cass has been a huge support in my role overseeing some of our most significant projects – developing creative concepts for projects such as Run for the Kids, bringing together client budgets, and leading all day to day event planning in the lead up to events – as well as playing a key role on the day. Working in events involves a lot of teamwork, dedication and communication. There can be many things going on at once, and for an office - and events to run smoothly, it is important that staff collaborate. Staff that excel are those who understand this, and balance the use of initiative with direction from clients and event managers. Not only has Cass demonstrated her ability to do all these things, but she has done so with a positive attitude and commitment beyond regular work hours. Cass has been a most valued employee and I have been grateful to have such a person representing my businesses. I am truly devastated that due to the Covid-19 environment we have had to make her role redundant for the time being. We would hire her back in a second.
