My official responsibilities encompassed three focus areas: project management, strategic initiatives and BD/proposal management. The project management aspect comprised a set of weekly, quarterly and annual deliverables developed through strategic project design. I ensured that the Executive Team was updated and informed at all times and supported specific task team members to enable them to execute deliverables on time, within budget. Project management was the proverbial bullseye of my role - making sure the most essential items that must get done, are allocated and successfully rolled out. My key function was also to coordinate and track tasks, as well as support the Executive Management team and other various temporary task teams and committees with the implementation of processes, along with innovation projects. An example of such processes and projects would be the firm's annual BEE Certification (my function includes implementation and tracking of all related projects to be measured).My main goal is to add value outside of my main responsibilities, and that is where strategic initiatives come in. I was involved in various projects as part of the Executive Office, to ensure continued improvement and/or maintaining effective operations across the various business areas.I also assisted the CEO with BD initiatives which formed part of his mandate and managed the firm's proposal services. Empowering my team to successfully coordinate external creative (design) briefs, meeting internal requirements, while balancing external client's needs was a crucial aspect of my role.
