  After a serious of interviews and simulation examination during my final year internship, I was one of six candidates from a high volume of applicants successful in achieving a place in the Foundation Intensive Care medicine graduate programme in St. James' Hospital intensive care unit. This programme in affiliation with the teaching and learning development centre of Trinity College healthcare campus onsite consisted of an intensive 12 week college programme with a number of modules including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology as well as situational and emergency simulation and scenario-based learning. These modules provided emphasis and delivered learning on post-operative care, situational judgement with primary concentration on effective communication and interpersonal skills. Show less
