I am a family case manager at the Department of Child Services in Marion County. I am one of two individuals in the county on a specialized team that manages a permanency caseload focusing on complex situations such as medically fragile children and near fatalities while maintaining an investigative caseload. As a mentor, I am regularly providing training for and shadowed by trainers in our field, Riley Children's Hospital specialists, and prospective employees. I work to develop positive relationships with foster parents, foster agencies, law enforcement, legal representatives, and court officials, and work with a diverse demographic of individuals and groups regularly. I regularly facilitate meetings of both large and small groups, direct families towards community resources, and de-escalate volatile situations.
