  I began as a lunch and dinner server in the main dining room, serving +200 physically-able residents. My responsibilities included various pre-shift tasks (plating the daily salad or cold appetizer, inputting room-service meal requests into POS system and delivering to residents, setting main dining room tables), attending daily meeting with chef to review allergy concerns and menu changes, and providing exceptional dining service to all residents. I was quickly recognized as an adept server and asked to train new employees in all aspects of service. I also gained experience as a server in the three dining rooms of the Linden Health Center- the skilled nursing unit, long term care center, and residential care unit. The 70+ residents living in the health center often had special dietary needs requiring the preparation of a soft-mechanical diet, liquid meal supplements, and nurse-assisted feedings. I was trained in providing these diets to residents and providing a patient and caring style of servie. Show less
