During this time period I gained clinical and administrative skills with various sports and facilities. Upon graduation I have completed 1,200 clinical hours. Some of the sports I have worked with are: gymnastics, men's hockey, women's soccer, men's basketball and football. These were Division II NCAA athletic teams and my involvement with the teams was ensuring quality acute care and providing treatment pre and post practice/games. The acute care given was on-field evaluations and wound care of any sort. Rehabilitation was also a major job for me, as a Senior Athletic Training Student, when I was with men's basketball and football. As a senior it was also very important that I got to know the coaching team as well as all the players. Having a quality relationship with the coaches was a huge advantage and helped with creating a positive environment for everyone involved. Overall being a student in the Athletic Training Education Program at Winona State University has given me a wide variety of skills and knowledge that has set me apart from other entry level Certified Athletic Trainers.
