Carwai teaches math and science in our Nelson Middle Year program. She is a gifted teacher, able to engage the students in hands-on projects that integrate science and math such as the physics of the Winter Olympics and the 2010 census. Check the math and science information on the NMY blog at our website www.tcslj.org. The Children's School is very lucky to have her on our faculty.

      • I teach at all levels of mathematics in our middle school program: 6th-grade math, Pre-algebra, and Algebra 1. I strive to design and implement a differentiated math program that meets each student, where they are, through varied instructional methods and project-based learning. I have developed a repertoire of tools, resources, and skills to support students with mathematical learning differences. • I contribute to and support the development of our social-emotional curriculum through my role as an advisor. • I co-lead the diversity and inclusivity initiatives for the whole school.• I co-led the task force committee on Technology and Training to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. I support and engage colleagues in implementation of technology skills during the transition to and implementation of remote learning.
