My role was as a food runner, which meant that my time was split between the front of the house and the kitchen. This allowed me to become acquainted with the way a professional kitchen should run, while learning from my fellow servers about dealing with customers. This was a very valuable experience for me, as it taught me how to engage and converse with customers. My role was cleaning, serving, and selling fish. My duties were communicating with customers, weighting and packing fish, cleaning up at the end of the day and working the various payment systems.
