      • Sep 2018 - Dec 2018

As a student volunteer at the NWS Nashville, I completed a Nashville CWA Severe Weather Climatology Project. The goal of this project was to determine the hours and months when severe weather occurs the most often in the Nashville CWA as well as creating a map showing all recorded tornadoes in the Nashville CWA. These results were then converted into digital posters for public display at the NWS Nashville office. I also assisted NWS Nashville staff in day-to-day operations through publishing TAF’s, providing Weekly Weather Briefings to essential statewide partners for decision support services (DSS), publishing Situation Reports, and also shadowing meteorologists conducting 0Z balloon launches. I also assisted forecasters on staff in disseminating social media messages, producing Local Storm Reports (LSR's), contacting Emergency Managers and 911 Dispatch Centers, and collecting storm survey data during and following the July 20th, 2018 severe weather outbreak.
