  I happily managed the family farm for years as well as running a small country store during our harvest months (June, July, August). I hired and unfortunately had to sometimes fire members of our large picking crew (up to 30), managed all farm finances up to year end, sold berries at the farm market as well as to grocery stores and markets, resorts, restaurants and the occasional wholesaler all of whom we delivered to. There was a lot of human interaction which I loved, most of the time. Did seasonal labour - topping, pruning, fertilizing, weeding, raking, etc. Managed farm resources and landscaped. It was a lovely balance of using your head, body and heart. Show less
