  I catalog, photograph, and store the Krasik Collection of Pennsylvania and Presidential Political Memorabilia and the George Westinghouse Museum Collection. I am also responsible for cataloging collections of glass, as well as assisting in cleaning the Heinz History Center's glass exhibit, Shattering Notions. I assisted the Collections Manager in preparing our object records in Past Perfect for their transfer to new software, The Museum System (TMS) and the upcoming purchase of eMuseum. This includes correcting mistakes in old records, creating uniformity in search terms, and general clean-up of records for future public access.

  As a part-time museum cataloger, I am responsible for photographing, cataloging, and storing the non-archival, three-dimension objects of a large collection (4,000+ total pieces) of Pennsylvania and Presidential political memorabilia. Materials I have worked with include ribbons, badges, celluloid buttons, coins, posters, and glass. I selected 78 of these objects for a modest display in the Heinz History Center's Visible Storage exhibit, and have performed light research for social media posts on the collection. I work with the Registrar and Collections Manager to ensure proper storage techniques. I work roughly 24 hours per week.

  I helped the Director of Publications and the Assistant Editor with editing articles for the quarterly Western Pennsylvania History magazine and manuscripts sent in for possible consideration for future magazine issues. I have also had experience transcribing an oral history interview and writing book reviews for publication in the magazine.

  As a part-time Visitor Services Representative for the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, I actively sell admission to the museums and promote membership to these two museums, as well as the Carnegie Science Center and the Andy Warhol Museum. I also supported staff at the Casting the Iron Garden event, hosted at the Carrie Furnaces Site in October of 2014. My internship here was compromised of roughly 125 hours. Using Past Perfect, I accessioned and cataloged artifacts relating to U.S. Steel and the Pittsburgh steel industry. Materials I worked with included glass and iron and steel samples.   I helped the curator of the site research, design, and select artifacts for the site's Bull Moose on the Loose exhibit of the 100th anniversary of Theodore Roosevelt's Progressive or "Bull Moose" Party. The curator and I also organized a project, also called "Bull Moose on the Loose", that interacted with National Parks Sites throughout the country with a stuffed animal moose. The project involved maintenance of a blog and Facebook page.
