Medical Student Placement
-
May 2005 - Jan 2009
In 2004 Griffith University opened the School of Medicine and enrolled their first cohort of medical students. Appointed to the role of Hospital Placements coordinator in May 2005 I needed to develop the medical students Hospital Placement Program. This included the development of an individualised electronic timetable. With my great people & networking skills I successfully engage medical consultants and clinicians to supervise/mentor students in the hospital and consulting rooms. I was able to create a detailed spreadsheet of the current and projected numbers of medical students on placement in the Gold Coast Hospital. This spreadsheet became a working document and was used by Griffith University, Bond University and Gold Coast Hospital, to establish the predicted burden on Hospital Staff. At the request of the Dean of Medicine, I presented the details of working document to the Australian Medical Counsel for the accreditation of School of Medicines program.

The School of Informatics was made up of five departments and I was appointed to the role of Department Administrator for Information Science. My main role was to providing support to all the teaching and research staff & students.Whilst at City I instigated conformity in the office accounting processes across all Departments within the School. This involved liaising with Schools Accountant & Business Administrator and working together with Administrators from other Departments of the School.I have an easy manner of communication and as a result I successfully liaised between our International students and their funding source from their home country e.g. Consulates and University, for a variety of reasons.
