The doctoral capstone was an advocacy initiative for Dwelle Collaborative to increase funding, manage Dwelle's media outlooks, develop evidence-based research, and build strong relationships with community providers to expand and advocate for Dwelle as an occupational therapy provider and resource for human trafficking survivors. Throughout 16 weeks, 640+ hours were completed to successfully implement the capstone project which included but not limited to:- Advocated and helped sustain the non-profit organization- Developed and assisted in launching the organization's first social enterprise, which was established to provide survivors with life skills and sustainable funding for the organization- Researched and created/made evidence-based therapeutic products for all working individuals- Created a social enterprise manual, online shop, and provided mentorship to Dwelle alumni- Revamped the organizations website to be more informative, interactive, and user friendly- Produced a preliminary case study rough draft on the results and effects of the organizations OT program- Collaborated with many community members and like-minded organizations- Provided an in-Service at CCS in Reseda, CA to the rehabilitation department- Disseminated my doctoral project at As We Dwell in Los Angeles, CA

Established in 2015, Dwelle Collaborative (Dwelle) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization who serves women who have been in vulnerable situations, including survivors of trafficking who are ready to begin a new chapter in their lives (end-stage recovery) within the Los Angeles county. They focus on Job + Life Skills, Empowerment, and Wellness via Occupational Therapy-Based programs.As an occupational therapist intern:- Facilitated community-based group and individual OT with human trafficking survivors- Obtained necessary information to develop an occupation-based treatment plan to achieve patient-directed goals through an occupational profile and assessments including COPM, GAS, and WHOQOL-BREF- Organized weekly evidence-based interventions and treatments engaging participants in health management, socialization, enhanced independent living or coping skills- Engaged clients in occupation-based treatment sessions to improve life skills- Provided group and individual consultations- Developed entry-level clinical reasoning and documentation skills- Provided weekly literature-reviews utilizing PICO- Organized self-care stations and sensory dome interactives for 10k/5k run/walk & wellness fair to promote wellness and career support for survivors of human trafficking
