The College of Architecture and Urban Studies (CAUS) oversees four schools: School of Visual Arts; School of Architecture+Design; Myers-Lawson School of Construction; School of Public & International Affairs. This Academic Affairs position requires leadership in advising, undergraduate recruitment, and curriculum management. All-inclusiveness is the foundation from which all work with and for CAUS students is conducted. ADVISING: Lead 6 academic advisors; chair a monthly informational advisor meeting. Develop programming to support student success. Advise students recovering from academic warning, probation or suspension. Support requests for academic relief. Assist students in the university's suspension appeal process. Manage Dean’s List. Oversee student forms processing. Track data and analyze reports. RECRUITMENT: Main point of contact for prospective applicants. College liaison with Admissions. Communicate with potential students about the admissions process, financial aid, scholarships, and visits. Coordinate efforts within CAUS to achieve high yield among students offered admission; implement programs to attract students from diverse populations. Lead 25 CAUS Student Ambassadors toward recruitment and retention efforts. Recruitment travel within Virginia and region. CURRICULUM MANAGEMENT: Manage course, concentration, minor, and degree proposals and revisions for 24 undergraduate and graduate CAUS degree programs. Serve on Curriculum Committee. Receive proposals and revisions then follow them from college to governance to catalog publication. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage student/faculty/staff awards/scholarships. College liaison: Student Success Center Advisory Board; University Advising; Transfer Credit Advisory Board. Committee work, as appointed. Work with University Registrar staff to resolve student issues (degree, registration, transfer credits).
