Primary duties include assisting with Mexican Spotted Owl and Northern Goshawk surveys, Golden Eagle and Peregrine nest monitoring, entering data into NRIS, NRM, and Pinyon, creating maps on ArcMap for the owl crew, and data management for iPhones. I set up all the programs and uploaded the information needed on the iPhones for wildlife surveys including uploading maps, survey points, and data sheets using iTunes, Avenza, and Adobe Acrobat. Other tasks include organizing the seasonal office, preparing gear for the on-boarding seasonals, QAQC-ing data sheets, scanning, and organizing data from previous surveys. I was able to assist with bat monitoring project in a cave on the forest. This entailed going into the cave and counting live bats residing in the cave. I am trained in how to set up acoustic bat equipment for bat surveys using SM4 recorders. I am ATV, UTV, and trailer certified. I also have my red card. I have experience with working on a large crew (8+ crew members) and leading crew members in the field and office. I had the opportunity to work with a fire engine crew and go out to check smoke reports and respond to fires. I learned how to sharpen tools, dig line, and be a first responder to a fire. I have a working knowledge of hand tool use for various projects such as repairing fences and trucks maintenance.
