Footlight Players is a 232-seat community theatre and venue with a regular season of six productions and event rentals in between. Production Management: As production manager, I am responsible for the hiring of production staff and creating the production schedule (ie. hang and focus, design deadlines, and load in/out). I serve as the liaison for communication between the artistic team, production team, director, and administrative staff. I maintain daily communication and lead weekly production meetings to find cohesion between designers and the director’s vision within budget constraints. During productions, I maintain meticulous book-keeping and assist with painting, construction, and lighting to meet production deadlines. For rentals, my responsibilities include negotiating rental contracts; developing production schedules in compliance with city ordinances; assisting with marketing cross-promotion; and providing day-of technical and front of house support. I am also responsible for maintaining facility safety, cleanliness, and organization. Stage Management: As SM, I run auditions and create show contracts actors and crew. I also coordinate and create the rehearsal schedule. My daily responsibilities include running rehearsals and creating rehearsal reports that communicate rehearsal progress, any changes, and the director’s vision to the production team. During rehearsals, I maintain blocking notes, timeliness, contact sheets, and line notes. During shows, I manage backstage and onstage spaces and crews. With a limited team, I am also often responsible for props, set dressing, and sound design. Show less
