Until August 2011, I have been Caroline's immediate line manager for several months. I found her to be consistently pleasant, tackling all assignments with dedication and a smile. Besides being a joy to work with, Caroline is a take-charge, outcome focused person who is able to present creative ideas and communicates benefits. She has successfully developed several performance management plans for our Trust that resulted in increased performance in clinical services. During her tenure, we saw an increase in the delivery of KPIs related to the social care delegated function from Local Authority. This improvement was a direct result of the plans implemented by Caroline. All of Caroline’s work is finished to a high standard. Though she was an asset to our performance management efforts, Caroline was also extraordinarily helpful in other areas of the Trust working hard with clinical services to implement service development initiatives. In addition to writing effective training modules and process maps for clinicians, Caroline assumed a leadership role in local authority performance management meetings, inspiring and motivating other employees. I highly recommend Caroline for employment. She is a team player and would make a great asset to any organisation.

I have always found Caroline to be a pleasant, committed and hard working with the high degree of expertise. She is an experienced worker and will meet the responsibility any assignment given to her. Her interpersonal skills are excellent and this further promotes in her colloborative approach with staff and stakeholders. Her understanding of system and overall organisational issues gives her a strategic view. She always seeks to improve her knowledge. The standard and quality of her work is extremely high. Her oral and written communication skills are very good. I am particularly impressed by her enthusiasm and her 'can do' attitude. Her acute analytical and interpretative skills for complex data are more impressive. Her attention to detail and working to perfection are commendable.

The Burnet Institute is an Australian, unaligned, not-for-profit, independent organisation that links medical research with practical action to help solve devastating health problems. I am working with the Burnet on Australia's enhanced sentinel surveillance system for Blood Borne Viruses and Sexually Transmitted Infections, which utilises state-of-the-art health informatics software to monitor the spread of infections, evaluate policy and practice, and improve service delivery. My research projects include an epidemiological study of syphilis trends, validation of pathology test result algorithm to classify syphilis for public health surveillance and an evaluation of Australia’s Enhanced Sentinel Surveillance System for Sexually Transmitted Infections.

My work as an independent Healthcare Systems Consultant is varied. I often undertake short evaluations of healthcare systems, information systems and internal organisational processes and have completed a number of data modelling projects for small and medium sized non-government organisations in Australia and the UK. I have recently completed internal reviews of Medicare generation systems for two primary healthcare organisations, and am currently overseeing the implementation of a new electronic health record system for an Aboriginal Community Controlled Healthcare Organisation in Queensland.

The Regional eHealth Project is a joint initiative between Cairns & Hinterland and Torres & Cape Hospital and Health Services, which aims to enhance eHealth infrastructure and implement an electronic health record across 58 regional and remote healthcare facilities in Far North Queensland. I led the Business Analysis stream for the project, which included preparation of high-level solution requirements and the formal Queensland Health tender invitation to the market. I led the functional shortlisting of tender responses, and the functional evaluation of shortlisted respondents during face to face presentations. I also established the benefits evaluation framework for the project, and informed early functional solution design during the implementation planning study.

Apunipima is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation delivering comprehensive primary health care services in Cape York, Northern Australia. During my first 2 years at Apunipima, I embedded processes and systems that tripled the organisation's Medicare revenue. I also I led the role out of the organisation's first Cape-wide electronic health record, and then established the eHealth team to support the organisation in the ongoing configuration, user support and system governance to ensure the integrity of the record was maintained and the health service delivery benefits maximised. The team oversaw all aspects of system configuration, health and population data analysis, internal and external reporting, Medicare revenue generation and user training and support. I undertook significant activity, performance, and population health analysis for a variety of purposes, and established a series of automated patient management dashboards to support managers and service delivery staff with access to their own data.

Cape York Partnership is an Indigenous policy reform and leadership organisation founded by Australian Aboriginal leader, Noel Pearson. During my 9 month contract, I was a Project Manager leading the financial and operational start-up of a newly formed education initiative within Cape York Partnerships. This role involved the management of a diverse range of activities with Noel and the CEO, including managing a team of project analysts and researchers; undertaking research and analysis on complex education theories and policies; and developing implementation models for the roll-out of the program.

Camden and Islington is a National Health Service Foundation Trust providing mental health, substance misuse and social care services in inner-London. During my role with the business and performance unit, I worked alongside the senior management team and 21 community mental health, forensic and substance misuse services. I was the key conduit between the operational services and the corporate organisational departments on all issues pertaining to the implementation of new systems and initiatives, electronic health system requirements, business process mapping and redesign, performance targets, statutory reporting and service analysis. During my time with the organisation I supported the roll-out of 2 electronic records, and led the establishment and delivery of key projects including safeguarding of adults, personalisation of social care funds and service redesign initiatives.
