Active Families Assistant
-
Jan 2022 - Jul 2022
I am currently on placement at Sport Otago as part of a Master's program. At Active Families, we provide the knowledge and resources to facilitate individual families' nutrition and physical activity goals. We aim, not only to improve future health outcomes for children through early intervention but to involve the whole family in the health journey. My roles include communication with families to identify their desired areas of health improvement, development of intervention plans alongside the family, and implementation of interventions. Interventions usually comprise nutrition education, hands-on workshops, and/or individualised resources. Show less

Menu Creator and Nutrition Blog Writer
-
Oct 2021 - Jul 2022
On a weekly basis, I create menus for a variety of dietary requirements (eg. gluten-free, dairy-free, heart healthy) and family needs (eg. kid-friendly, budget, ready in 30). I write blogs on a variety of nutrition and food-related topics, aiming to help people understand the wide range of information and misinformation available on food and nutrition on the internet.
