3 months volunteering. I would go for 10 days expeditions in the Hornstrandir Reserve (Wesfjiords). We were monitoring the fox dens to participate in the study of the tourism-related impact on behaviour and reproduction of the Arctic foxes (Vulpes lagopus). Between expeditions, I would guid people in the Arctic Fox museum to discuss about their biology, ecology and history in the country (in English and French) and help at the coffee shop. Thanks to this experience I was able: - to improve my communication skills in english, - to learn how to work in a remote area with harsh weather conditions, - to learn about arctic foxes behavior and their monitoring methods.
