The Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC) is a multidisciplinary network of UC Berkeley students, alumni, faculty and industry professionals who tackle energy and environmental challenges. BERC’s mission is to connect, educate, and engage its members in order to foster innovation and action. As Co-President, I co-managed a 28-person leadership team and oversaw annual $80,000 fundraising efforts. I provided vision and implemented strategy for our 1,000-member, student-run organization as we engaged our network around BERC's impactful events and consulting projects. Show less

Performed research and writing for renewable energy policy design, analysis, and implementation: • Worked with rural electric cooperatives to develop a tax equity model that would allow them to take advantage of US renewable energy tax credits despite small tax appetite. • Identified and interviewed over 15 solar PV installers in Caribbean islands to establish the range of PV installation costs. Data used for determining appropriate PV policies and incentive levels in the region, and published in collaboration with Greentech Media Research. • Coordinated outreach for the NY-Sun PV Trainers Network, a three-year, multi-million dollar solar program under Governor Cuomo's NY-Sun Initiative. • Authored fact sheet on solar PV glare near airports as part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s SunShot Initiative. • Researched and profiled best practices in energy efficiency training to support the development of Albania’s Education for Sustainable Development strategy. • Supported Colombia’s San Andrés Island with developing an RFP for procurement of small-scale solar electricity and solar water treatment systems.
