I work in a small team to use ReactJS and the AirTable RESTful API to add further functionality to the Stanford Vietnamese Student Association website. I'm working on the events archive which showcases the organization's rich, 30+ year history and I lead team meetings to check on progress and strategize the best next steps to maximize our productivity.

Public Relations Co-Chair

May 2021 - Jun 2022
I ramped up social media engagement, increased readership for our mailing list, and led an unprecedented multimedia archival initiative. The role pushed me to think critically about how I wish to communicate to audiences and make thoughtful decisions in creating engaging content to advance the organization's goals.

My work ranged from computational biology and bioinformatics to full stack web development and graphics design. Some of the work I completed includes implementing a Python web-scraper to mass-download proteins from the UniProt database, building a proteome-mining tool in Python, designing the team's logo and creating representative artwork, and editing our project promotion video. I also built the team's website with React.js and Sass and deployed it using GitLab's CI/CD pipeline. My efforts were instrumental for our team to win silver in the 2022 International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition in Paris Show less

I studied strain-level dynamics of human gut microbiota strains during fecal microbiota transplantation as a Bio-X Fellow. I also attended lab meetings, journal clubs, and wet lab workshops as part of the Stanford Bio-X Undergraduate Research Program. The experience culminated in a presentation to the broader Bio-X community at the end of the summer; however, I continued my research through Fall 2021.
