- Arrange and verify import shipping documentation - Coordinate between sales and oversea agents to ensure accurate documentation - Ensure that shipping documentation meets Canada import’s regulations by reviewing various import classifications and documents such as, Customs Tariff 2020, Customs Act, and DFAIT, to ensure regulations are met and import goods are classified correctly - Liaison with overseas agents, customs brokers, and clients to ensure imports are coordinated with proper customs and duties filed - Ensure that international trade requirements and documentation are in place at time of importation - Send necessary documentation to customs broker to clear goods entering Canada - Supervise transit for international cargo, tracking and tracing the shipment to ensure that it arrives on time and to the proper port of destination - Update the clients with any changes to arrival dates - Coordinates with overseas agents to ensure on-time arrival of goods - Coordinates with local customs warehouses, to ensure arrival and intact cargo - File intent to claim when cargo is damaged - Developed and execute a plan and procedure for the transportation and storage of the goods - Contact consignee to collect information for delivery and or any special instructions - Negotiate rates with carriers - Consult with our Finance Department regarding all billing to overseas agents, customs broker, and clients - Quote clients, with the assistance of the Sales Department, and other operation colleagues - Assist the rest of the operations team with e-docs and moving towards a paperless environment
