Carol is a Dunghutti woman from NSW. She has strong connection to ‘place and country’ and her work is informed by her experiences of growing up on an Aboriginal mission and a career in the public sector spanning almost three decades. Carol has worked across a range of portfolio areas in the public service including Aboriginal affairs, education, housing and child protection. As a senior officer in the NSW Government, Carol led a number of high profile Aboriginal Affairs initiatives in the areas of housing, child sexual assault and education and training.She is a professional facilitator, social researcher and policy analyst which is supported by undergraduate and post-graduate qualifications in leadership, public sector management and Indigenous Studies.Since resigning from the NSW Public Service in early 2013, Carol has established Murawin (Dunghutti word meaning “to be educated”), a specialist bi-cultural consulting company that strives to improve outcomes for Indigenous Australians through driving change.
