As Principal Advisor, I provided advice to the Director across his role, but with a strong focus on the apiculture and red meat sectors and on wider traceability frameworks. Prior to this role I was senior policy analyst, Sector Policy (in the Animals, and Forestry and Plant teams). These roles had a variety of focii - developing and ensuring currency of regulations in the primary sector, including for the competitive milk processing market in New Zealand, work on regulations under the Commodity Levies Act 1990 regarding the setting of levies for industry-good purposes in the horticultural sector and regulatory policy relating to the viticulture sector. I was also involved in a project to develop a legality framework for timber exports.
