My appointment as Community Investment Manager for RWE npower was an opportunity to link together my business management skills and my desire to work in sport. I project managed many successful initiatives, including: • The partnership with the English Federation of Disability Sport, covering specific sports linked to headline sponsorships such as cricket, rugby and football. o Introduced wheelchair rugby to able-bodied players through disability events in conjunction with Stoke Mandeville • Developed a community partnership with Worcester Warriors . During this time a community programme was established to grow the game of rugby, increase participation and to drive revenue back into the club. • Developed Community partnership with Worcester Wolves and helped Worcester University link local club partnerships together to create opportunities for young people across Worcestershire to engage in sport. • Worked on an Urban Cricket programme to sit behind Test Cricket sponsorship with ECB, giving disadvantaged young people living in inner-cities the opportunity to play the game. • Created, developed and managed a charity partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support which was valued at £6M. This partnership consisted of: o Creating and delivering fundraising events across 60 UK sites o Developing and overseeing cause related marketing initiatives o Raising awareness of partnership (was third most recognised corporate partnership, by year four o Helped develop a fundraising event with Phil Tufnell linked to test Cricket which raised over £300,000 for the charity o Worked on TV advertising campaign in support of major fundraising campaigns – Coffee Morning o Developed partnership into award winning programme – National Charity Awards – Best Partnership. • In addition to managing charity partnerships, I was also responsible for managing the company’s charitable giving programme with an overall budget of £1.5M per annum. UK Business Manager for a British Police Consortium - an exciting opportunity to develop my organisational and managerial skills. Working for a Consortium of Senior Police Officers, I was responsible for managing international policing intelligence projects working in liaison with agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Intelligence and the Secret Service. The post demanded a high level of competency and over my five years in post, I developed a range of skills which included: project management, time management, risk analysis, budgets and decision-making to a high level of understanding and application.
