I am a Research Laboratory Analyst in the Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (Environmental Chemistry) laboratory at the EERC. My responsibilities include performing chemical analyses using gas chromatographic instrumentation (GC/FID, GC-ECD, GC/MS), performing supercritical fluid extraction and pore water flocculation techniques for the determination of PAHs and PCBs on environmental solids, performing solid-phase microextraction, subcritical water extraction and Soxhlet techniques, and performing mercury analysis on coal and fly ash. I also perform technical editing on manuscripts submitted to scientific journals resulting from work performed in the GC/MS lab.
