  Legislated in PA in 1834, School Boards provide for the maintenance & support of a thorough and efficient system of public education. Directors have no authority as individuals but rather decision-making power is limited to the group as exercised at duly advertised public "sunshine"​ meetings. Directors are expected to promote the common good in all their deliberations & to know enough to make informed decisions.
