I have had the pleasure of working with Carly on many different projects (email marketing, websites, blogs, digital ads, social media, print collateral, etc.) Carly is extremely organized, professional and reliable. She has the ability to catch small details that others don't always notice. She is optimistic, friendly and has a good sense of humor. She is great to work with, and you should see her calligraphy skills...

Carly is a bright, talented young marketer with tons of potential. I both taught Carly (she took my Consumer Behavior course, which is a required course for the marketing degree) and hand-picked her to work with me in a student assistant role for 1.5 years while she was pursuing her bachelor's degree in marketing at the University of St. Thomas. Carly balances conscientiousness with creativity, and she has a strong ability to understand consumers/users and find ways to meet their needs and wants. Works great both solo and in teams. If you're looking for someone who learns quickly and just knows how to get things done, I definitely recommend Carly.

Being a stylist is more than just straightening the clothing racks and getting people dressing rooms. My role as a stylist at EVEREVE involves getting to know each customer that walks through the door by name and getting to know who they are. As a stylist, my job is to make sure each customer feels seen and heard and to give her the best styling experience I can based on knowing her body type, lifestyle, and personality. Unfortunately, I graduated when a pandemic hit the world, and finding a job in marketing right out of college grew difficult. Instead of basking in sadness, I decided to find a job regardless of what field it was in. Being a scheduling manager involves multitasking to a whole new level and having your customer service on point all the time. I've learned a lot of useful skills during my time as a scheduling manager. My role as an Office Assistant at the University of St. Thomas involved being the first face guests see as they walk into McNeely Hall and get associated with the Opus College of Business. I answer any questions students or parents of prospective students have about Opus, and I am the support for all Opus staff and faculty. A key holder is a person the staff turns to when something does not go right. During my time as a key holder, I was in charge of opening/closing the store, counting the drawer at the beginning/end of the night, being a leader for the sales associates, and making sure the store is operating smoothly and efficiently.

As a sales associate, my main priority was making sure the customers had the best gown shopping experience possible. I greeted every customer that walked through the door and listened to their needs to ensure that I assisted them in the best way that I could. Gown shopping could be stressful, and it was my job to ensure that the girls that came into the store felt confident and beautiful the way that they were.

BUSN 200 Business Learning through Service is a zero credit, experiential course that gives undergraduate business students at St. Thomas the opportunity to see the business side of a nonprofit. Some of the tasks associated with this position included working with St. Thomas' CMS system to update the BUSN 200 intranet site, creating print promotional content that shared what the program is, learned video making software to create a video that is shown to hundreds of students every semester, and assessed the program's current marketing and gave feedback to the director.

Working as a barista isn't just about making good coffee. It involves making sure the customer is greeted with a smile and feels like an important part of the business the minute they walk in the door. It also involves working quick on your feet and being able to handle multiple tasks at once.

I got the opportunity to run my own classroom during that summer. I was in charge of lesson planning for a class that consisted of roughly 30 first and second graders. I had two assistants that would set up stations and the classroom for me, but I ultimately was in charge of ensuring that the kids were safe at all times, were learning things at an appropriate level for their age, and had fun all at the same time.

My role as an assistant supervisor consisted of assisting the Supervisor with any tasks they need help with, ensuring the children in the classroom were safe at all times, handling conflicts with parents when they arose, and I made sure the kids were learning things that interested them and that they were having fun while doing it.
