It has been my pleasure to have Carly Butterworth as a student in many of my WMU classes, as well as an employee on a large-scale development project. Carly has been in at least one of my classes every semester since Fall 2014. Over that period of two years, Carly has consistently demonstrated the ability to learn and apply programming concepts and techniques, as well as work as a productive team member on every single project. However, what stands out most about Carly is her attitude. The myriad of classes she took with me spanned from social media integration and programming APIs in business contexts up through an exceptionally advanced mobile development course. Throughout all of these classes Carly was challenged and did well. But it was when she found herself in areas which she had issues that proved difficult, she truly demonstrated her ability to learn from her mistakes in a constructive manner rather than simply be frustrated. Any organization would benefit from hiring Carly as her attitude and skills form a solid foundation for her to contribute, learn, and meet all challenges presented.
