I support a diverse range of project work at the community level to reduce emissions, conserve energy and progressively transition to a low carbon, resilient economy. In order to support this work, one of my strengths is my ability to conduct detailed research on climate and energy topics. My experience in public engagement has aided in helping transition our community engagement over to online platforms in the time of COVID. I joined CEA at a time that the organization was seeing considerable growth. Part of my role is to refine our internal systems and act as a project control manager for the high number of projects that come through our pipeline.

During my time at the Vancouver Aquarium I created and delivered effective interpretive programs that inspired visitors to learn more about our oceans and the natural world. The programs I created included talks on topics such as exploring the complexity of jellyfish, the unsolved mysteries of the narwhal and the changing Arctic they live in, the community of critters that rely on eelgrass beds, and the impacts of climate change on one of the world’s coolest and strangest turtles (pig-nosed turtles!). I enjoyed the challenge of connecting people to the animals that don’t always get as much attention or love—bats, reptiles, and insects need our help too.
