The first ten weeks were used to intensively train on Teach Like A Champion techniques created by Doug Lemov. Coaches had to become masters of all techniques through practice and feedback. Coaches watched videos with our trainers in order to norm our ratings on teacher observations. The last five weeks of the program coaches were in charge of ten future first year teachers at the Richard Green Middle School Campus in the Bronx. Future teachers were observed and coached while they led summer school classrooms. Responsibilities included serving as a liaison between the NYCTF and the middle school, reviewing lesson plans, observing lessons, training, rating their performance and most importantly giving them feedback that could immediately better their instruction.
