-Support the Water and Waterways Team to develop and implement System Repair and Waterways projects. Including sampling for the GBR End of Catchment Loads project (DES) -Implement river restoration activities in priority catchments including the O’Connell River, Murray Creek and the Pioneer catchment, including program design and management (oversight of on-site works), landholder engagement, and facilitation and meetings with stakeholders, as part of the Reef Trust Four Federal Fund. -Undertake water quality monitoring in riverine and marine environments including field (grab and automated), macro invertebrate sampling, physicochemical monitoring and deployment of passive pesticide samplers (GBRMPA) -Update and implement the Mackay Whitsunday Water Quality Improvement Plan 2014 – 2021. -Facilitate and assist in the development of priority healthy waterways projects with working groups, industry, local government and state government, this will include developing funding proposals and programs. (Janes Creek Landholder Engagement Project - DES) -Develop and maintain communication pathways between Reef Catchments and working groups, industry, local government and state government. -Establish field trials and demonstrations, collaborating with research agencies and communicating with landholder through a range of extension processes. (Treatment Train Innovation Grant - OGBR) -Collect, coordinate and management of data, and spatial mapping to monitor and report on implementation and improvements in river restoration. - Pesticide sampling at Estuaries locations for the Mackay-Whitsundays-Issac Healthy Rivers to Reef Partnership report card.
