      I was a high school science at Gavit High School in Hammond, Indiana. My duties are to create an engaging and rigorous curriculum for Integrated Chemistry and Physics students and Environmental science students. My goals are for my students to achieve 4 points growth on college readiness standards and to achieve 80% master on content objectives. My research is trying to analyze the symbiotic relationship between sponges and its symbionts, mainly dinoflagellates that are photosynthetic protist that aid sponges. My research also tries to analyze which genes are differentiately regulated in sponges when they acquire their symbionts. The result of this research was a publication in BMC Genomics.
