I was a high school science at Gavit High School in Hammond, Indiana. My duties are to create an engaging and rigorous curriculum for Integrated Chemistry and Physics students and Environmental science students. My goals are for my students to achieve 4 points growth on college readiness standards and to achieve 80% master on content objectives. As a resident assistant, I organize and plan programs about student development for residents that live in the residence hall. I also resolve conflicts that residents have about their living situation. This position also requires me to be a policy enforcer, which I was responsible for doing all the time while present inside the residence hall.

Undergraduate Research Scientist

As a research scientist I perform biotechnology and molecular biological techniques on sponges. My research is trying to analyze the symbiotic relationship between sponges and its symbionts, mainly dinoflagellates that are photosynthetic protist that aid sponges. My research also tries to analyze which genes are differentiately regulated in sponges when they acquire their symbionts. The result of this research was a publication in BMC Genomics.

Main tasks were to update all of the software databases and to handle basic administrative task for the controllers and accounts of the company. I also was responsible for updating quarterly report spreadsheets for the reinsurance branch. Another one of mu responsibilities was sit in on meetings and analyze the trajectory of the reinsurance branch in the company.
