Editor and Studio Technician
-
Apr 2014 - Jul 2018
I am an on call freelance editor for Fox 13. This job requires a lot of teamwork. I have to communicate with the director, producer, the anchors, or the floor director. The news itself is an event with things changing constantly. I have to be ready for any change that might come my way and adjust accordingly. Working at KSTU has increased my communication and interpersonal skills exponentially. This job has me editing content for news, construct a finished clip using many different shots, trim segments to an allotted amount of time, check for continuity and errors on both audio and visual segments. As a studio technician I served as liaison between crews in the control room studio, set up all cameras for each newscast, verified all light fixtures, monitors, props and set pieces were in position and functioning properly, filmed live segments, followed verbal and written instructions from the on-air director, and floor directed. Children's Lead
-
Nov 2010 - May 2015
My previous job as Children’s Lead at Barnes & Noble has prepared me to take on any position. This setting required me to set up several projects per week, often times reaching up to 20 or more in one day. All of this while still helping customers and teaching my fellow employees. I had to complete these within the allotted time or give feedback as to why they could not be completed. When they were not completed it was usually due to shipping errors of the product. I was also in charge of weekly events taking place at the store. Some of these projects were exclusive to our location but many events were nationwide at all stores. These events required feedback and reports of what happened, how many people attended, etc. Barnes & Noble also helped me overcome my fear of public speaking as these events usually required me to address large crowds. In order to efficiently help customers knowledge of the product was key. But more important was the organization of the store. While at Barnes & Noble I was in charge of shelving and organizing as well as inventory for the product in the Children’s Department and other departments. Making sure everything was in the right place ensured I was able to increase sales by locating the product. Show less
