During this internship I had the pleasure of working on a team with two other interior design students from other schools to complete a brief exercise in evidence-based design. We researched the healing power of movement and how it relates to expecting mothers, women in labor, and women in post-natal care and their newborn babies. We used this research to support and/or refute the use of the CAMA glider chair by IOA which offers a rocking motion with a locking mechanism for safety while getting out of the chair in these different area of medical care.

      - At JNA, everyone is an integral part of the team. Whether you have 20 years of experience or 4 months and still in school, you matter and your opinion is heard. Jill was a wonderful boss to work for and I learned more than I could've imagined during this internship. - While at JNA, I worked on multiple residential projects all within revit. I crafted floor plans and fully detailed kitchens and bathrooms ranging from more traditional homes to very modern ones. - I also assisted in the creation of material palettes and spoke to clients to better understand the vision that they have for their homes. To create these palettes I often had to work alongside vendors and representatives of wood, tile, appliances, and cabinetry as well. - I was involved in wrapping up final punch lists for a few projects that had already been completed such as installing an area rug and meeting with a shade installer to solve non-blackout conditions and visible wiring on a fog window. - For one completed project, I created a before, during, after picture book using InDesign - Toward the end of my time at JNA, I got the opportunity to work alongside Jill to come up with a plan to renovate an admissions office space at a local private school to bring that part of the school up to speed with the recent addition that was added.

Contributed to construction drawing sets, permit sets, and GMP sets for Multi-family Residential projects including Caldwell on Munroe Street in Lynn and SEDNA Beverly Waterfront in Beverly, MA. Especially contributed to kitchen and bath details and elevations as well as enlarged unit plans. Created test fits for an office renovation in Manchester-by-the-Sea and coordinated with DIRTT representatives to provide the wall system for the space. Also created proposed elevations for the facade of the building including all new storefront windows and a new entry door with sidelights. Made sight visits to get obtain measurements and ceiling heights of the existing space. Provided preliminary space planning for a renovation to a single-family home in New Jersey. The home was a mid-century modern style house with a very closed off floor plan and small kitchen along with a large living room and family room. The two car garage lead straight into the laundry room which ideally was to be relocated and that space would be turned into a mud room. The client loved to cook and wanted to significantly expand the size of the kitchen. By demoing a few walls, the space was able to be opened up a bit but a central staircase to the basement kept it from being an open concept. A large island was added to the kitchen and the dining area was added to the living room along with a built-in tv stand, soft seating, and a casual nook with table for gathering and playing games.
