I first became a part of the Colorado Springs AAF in 2010. When Carleen took the position as President of the American Advertising Federation this year, things quickly became updated. While maintaining the luncheons with guest speakers, the networking events and the annual awards banquet, she also took it to another level. Updating the website, adding a newsletter and making everything fresh and cutting edge. It's been a pleasure to watch change happen as she's focused her energy on the AAF.

The About Pages, formerly The Review, is being launched Q3, July 2017 and will continue the legacy of the magazine by connecting Colorado MARKETING | ADVERTISING | PR | MEDIA professionals. Why the rebrand? That was a BIG question and not one we are taking lightly. The Review brand in some iteration has been the brand for more than 40 years. We absolutely respect the legacy. Out of our love and respect, we knew in our bones we had to go all in and find a name that would represent the next chapter. What has made the publication so strong has been the Who behind the What and How-To articles that kept us all plugged into the industry and each other. We just didn’t feel right about saying that we were “reviewing” people. It just didn’t sit right. And since, the “about page” is literally the second most visited page on a website, it just clicked. All of a sudden everything we were trying to shape and share just made sense. And as if the universe was telling us to go for it – the url theaboutpages.com was available (let that sink in.) It was a sign. So, we pulled the trigger and we are loving how it is just snowballing. In addition, the magazine instead of a monthly will now be a quarterly that literally connects you with more than 30 pros from the Colorado Marketing | Advertising | PR | Media industry in every issue. We are bringing back print. Yes, we said it. We know that everyone loves to see their name in print. So, each quarter we will fire-up the presses and release 100 limited-edition copies of our glossy magazine for the people in it, the people who created it and the people who supported it.We are excited about sharing with our subscribers the redesign and launch of The About Pages magazine and connect you to the people that are behind the scenes, leading the pack, blazing the trails, and elevating all of us by doing what they do best. This magazine is about them and about you.

I am a marketing consultant for KUVO radio and Rocky Mountain PBS. I assist them with 360 marketing strategies to help them leverage their social media and online assets to increase revenue and reach for their overall portfolio. I work one-on-one with their in-house marketing teams as a coach and on-call consultant. For the last three years, I have helped them grow their annual fundraising event to year-over-year growth in revenue, developed new reach strategies and new revenue streams, and helped them capture the event to use year round as a marketing tool to grow their reach in the community.

I was the production graphic artist for approximately 2 months before the Production Director left. With the help of incredible team at the magazine, press and prepress crews I learned how to put together a magazine under rapid fire via SyQuest disks (that never mounted), film, velox, slides, Quark and a whole lotta luck. My love for print, obsession with advertising, and unwavering respect for badass prepress/print crews was born working for South Florida Magazine. I also learned the gift and unmeasurable value of the schmooze and that the secret to knowing what really goes on at any business is easy - answer the phone for the first 3 months you are on the job.

I worked with PR Director Savannah Whaley and discovered the beauty and true magnificence of Opera. I learned to write press releases, create media contact lists, and how to track down like a dog after a bone - photos for promotional materials. I designed a brochure for their student program that I still think looks pretty good. Most of all, I made a friend in Savannah and she was a mentor that not only hooked me up with job and life skills, but the opportunity to experience 7 operas. I think back today to the true "grandness" of my short time at Florida Grand Opera and it was the opportunity Savannah gave me to show up to work like a pro.
