The Southern Universities Network (SUN) is a collaborative partnership comprising HE providers in Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight. The SUN provides outreach activities for schools and colleges as part of Uni Connect – an Office for Students (OfS)-funded project.In this role, I am responsible for delivering workshops and assemblies in schools, supporting the SUN's projects and aims, and managing the SUN social media accounts. Admissions & Enquiries Conversion Offficer

Whilst in this role, I acted as a key member of the Admissions & Enquiries team, participating in all areas of the student recruitment process, ensuring high-quality customer service from the point of enquiry through to enrolment on UCEM’s programmes of study. In addition to my involvement in the enquiries and admissions processes, I took on the responsibilities of staff liaison for the ‘gender balance’ student ambassador, and representative for the admissions team within the Access and Participation Planning working group, contributing towards ideas on how to widen participation & access within UCEM and taking responsibility for actionable objectives for the admissions team.

Conversion ambassador

Conversion ambassador for philosophy. My main duties within this role include using the Unibuddy platform to answer questions from prospective students about studying at Southampton; providing campus tours when requested; conversion calling to arts & humanities applicants via Gecko Engage.

Student Ambassador

As a student ambassador, my role is to represent the University of Southampton, and to support the Outreach & Widening Participation team during events on & off campus. Through the ambassador scheme, I have taken on a variety of shorter-term & longer-term jobs, including:- Assisting with a variety of on & off-campus visit days & workshops (year 6-12)- Leading accomodation workshops (for year 8)- Mentoring on a 10-week Books & Stories scheme (for year 6)- Summer school & e-mentor for the Access to Southampton programme - Assistance with Undergraduate open days- Assistance with Postgraduate vist afternoons- Assistance with International welcome days - Providing campus & halls of residence tours

Invigilator for Additional Requirements exams during University exam periods (January, May/June, & August). As an invigilator, my main duty was to ensure that exams ran as smoothly as possible, and to provide support for students that require additional support or facilities during their exams.
