I was in this role for 8 months, however due to loss of accounts,I, along with colleagues, was unfortunately made redundant. I worked for an established supplier, who supply predominantly to Marks and Spencer for their Indigo, Autograph, Casual dresses, M&S Woman and Formal wear collections. I was working on the M&S woman account and was responsible for designing all casual tops, blouses, shirts and Camis (mainly wovens). I also did some work for their accounts with Laura Ashley and M&Co and also continuously designed for their own in-house range - a more fashion forward collection, consisting of wovens, jerseys, casualwear, formalwear, tops and dresses. Responsibilities: * Translating Catwalk trends to Commercial designs * Interpreting customers briefs and moodboards into successful and relevant designs * Trend researching through the medium of magazines, street shots, comp shopping and trend websites. * Liaising daily with factories in India and China * Meeting sample submission deadlines * Attending meetings with customers * Fabric sourcing from mills in the Far East * Using Photoshop and Illustrator to complete Garment Tech packs, embroidery designs & templates and trend boards. Junior Girlswear Designer

Aug 2011 - Aug 2012
Flyers PLC is a childrenswear supplier, designing and supplying for babywear, girlswear and boyswear, from the ages of 0 months - 16 years old. My role was on girlswear where I initially worked on 3 collections, assisting the Senior designer. These were Firetrap, French connection and the in-house brand, Sugar Pink. I worked on multi products including Outerwear, Denim, Jersey, Wovens, Knits, Dresses and Skirts. I later was made solely responsible for Sugar Pink and another girlswear in-house brand, Feu Follet. Whilst still working along side the Senior Designer on Firetrap on French connection, I had to also research, design, sample, fit and present Sugar Pink & Feu follet to management and Buying, seeing both these brands through from initial research all the way to final product. Responsibilities: * Translating Catwalk trends to Commercial childrenswear designs * Trend researching through the medium of magazines, street shots, comp shopping and trend websites. * Liaising daily with factories in India and China * Meeting sample submission deadlines * Creating print designs and presenting ideas and research for graphic designs * Using Photoshop and Illustrator to complete Garment Tech packs, spec sheets and print designs. * Attend fit meetings * Monitor Quality control on all girlswear samples * attend meting at Firetrap and French Connection * Help compile the seasonal 'Lookbook' for all brands we owned - Ben Sherman, Converse, Firetrap, French connection, Sugar Pink, Feu Follet & Hadleigh.
