    • Curatorial Assistant
      • Oct 2020 - Present

      - Working for esteemed independent curator and advisor Barbara Flynn, I undertake research into Australian and international contemporary and emerging artists for upcoming public and private art commission strategies. Preparing detailed documents for use, I’ve honed both the depth and efficiency of my research skills with meticulous attention to detail for quality output under tight deadlines.- This work continues to be rewarding in manifold ways; continual deep learning from both the research itself and from the expertise of colleagues, challenging me to grow professionally within the arts industry, affording exposure and insight into the creative and logistical processes behind commissions and curating itself working directly with practitioners and artists, and above all fulfilling a passion for applied research and engagement with contemporary art.

      • Jan 2019 - Feb 2021

      - Competitively selected for the gallery’s Youth Collective Program for 2019, working under the mentorship of AGNSW staff to collaboratively develop and assist public programs and events such as Art After Hours and monthly youth programs called “FOMArt” (Fear of Missing Art). Roles involved preparing and leading interviews with artists and arts professionals, facilitating workshops within the gallery and at external community events, social media documentation, moderating events, and contributing to recent online initiatives.- Representing the Youth Collective, I was selected to speak on the occasion of Sydney Modern’s Groundbreaking Ceremony in November 2019, addressing the gallery’s staff, board, donors and patrons, government representatives and media.- In early 2021, I was also closely involved in developing the video interview series “Artists at Work” which will serve as valuable and resonant resources for students and youth audiences. This process has involved research, writing for various stakeholders, collaborating with peers, meeting and interviewing artists, and mentoring workshops with gallery staff. For its first iteration in collaboration with Brett Whiteley Studio, leading young Australian artists discussed practice, inspiration, and what it means to be an artist in Australia today.
