This position required becoming proficient in a wide range of testing equipment and platforms. This includs realtime qPCR platforms, RFLP, automation robot arms and other various smaller pieces of equipment required for accuracy of testing and efficiency in workflow. All diagnostic PCR tests developed followed CAP and CLIA guidelines for acceptability and quality. These rigorous guidelines include experiments that assure the quality and accuracy of tests once developed for use in the Access Genetics clinical lab. This position also required detailed documentation of experiments performed, reagents made for Access Genetics clinical use , SOP's and full validation reports. Inter department cooperation was essential to creating a smooth work flow that provided little possibility for mistakes and the accurate reporting of results.
