During my time at Obrinel SA I worked on the Grain Terminal of Montevideo (TGM), this was the biggest project of its kind in Uruguay ($100 million USD investment) and involved the construction of a new terminal at the main port of Montevideo. The location and technology within the terminal make it one of the best used facilities in the South American region. As part of the client´s team on site, I worked side-by-side with a Senior Civil Engineer and a Mechanical Engineer. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Monitor all the different areas of the construction, keeping track of progress. I was in charge of making the measurement of the progress, as well as analysing and reporting. • Interfacing with the field teams of construction, production, engineering, supplies and those responsible for the venture in order to discuss duration / constructions procedures of the different tasks. • Create Excel and Project Manager Documents to keep record of the assessments. • Develop strong relationships with the different contractor companies working together to program and coordinate the different tasks. • Plan the schedule for the project in conjunction with the contractors, considering all sorts of variables, especially the interaction with the other parts of the construction and equipment availability.
