I have had the pleasure to see Carie's hard work change the lives of Alberta Families with a child receiving treatment at the Alberta Children's Hospital. Carie knows personally the impact of navigating childhood cancer as a survivor herself. She is brave, she is fierce, and she is relentless in finding ways to provide financial support to these families during an incredibly difficult time. As a one woman show supported by a strong group of Board members and passionate volunteers, Carie steers the ship at Helping Families with confidence, efficiency, and passion.

It is a pleasure to work with Carie because her passion for her work is both evident and infectious. She's able to get things done herself or delegate tasks to others and trust that they'll get done - and I regularly witnessed her do both during preparation for the fundraising events we worked on together. I appreciate her willingness to lead learning and growth personally and organizationally beyond her already-substantial knowledge and expertise. Carie is a wonderful leader with a lot of heart, and working with her was such a positive experience for me.

For the last decade plus I have been hyper focused on the success of Helping Families Handle Cancer. I have done it all as I have built this charity from the ground up from initial concept, collaboration between the charity at Oncology Social Workers and the Alberta Children's Hospital, marketing, board development, fund development, running events, managing volunteers, applying for grants, bookkeeping and tax receipting. This included tracking technician commission, problem solving, customer service, account receivables and much more. I started my work career off at Windows Works, which evolved and grew into what is now known as Men in Kilts. I helped clients schedule appointments, educated customers on their upcoming experience, did call backs and dealt with customer service issues when needed. As a Customer Service Representative I was responsible in providing work for around 30-45 cleaning technicians and personally selling and scheduling over $1 million dollars worth of revenue annually.
