  In 2001 Caren decided to move to I-Net Bridge, part of Johnnic Digital in the Johnnic Group, so as to learn and understand online content delivery. She initially started as an account manager on the corporate side of I-Net Bridge - selling online content and training to clients, and progressed to Channel Management. She also created a strategy to cross-sell to clients with most of the sister companies within the group. She was tasked with setting up and creating a channel strategy and finding partners. During this time she was approached by a sister company, Compress, to head up their small publishing business in Johannesburg. She revised the strategy and direction of the business in Johannesburg from corporate to not-for-profit and grew the business to 40% gross profit within a year. What's On in the Cape and Zapop Sports Marketing

  A tourism publication aimed at primarily at international tourists. It was distributed in all the top tourist attractions and 4 and 5-star hotels in and around Cape Town, the Winelands etc. Caren garnered the support of Captour, the then local tourist authority and the magazine was funded by advertising. All distribution was done personally once a month so she had an excellent understanding of what the industry was after ito of content and was able to keep track of what quantities were required by each distribution point. Most of all it built relationship with our advertisers and distributors. We distributed around 80 000 - 100 000 copies a month with minimal returns. She also co-owned a sports marketing company managing cricketers and the top South African men's beach volleyball teams. Show less
