Conducted research into how the expression of genes related to biofilm formation vary across biofilm colonies of Bacillus Subtilis. This was done by creating genetically modified strains of B Subtilis that expressed fluorescent proteins in tandem with the genes of interest such as extracellular matrix production or flagellum expression. The growth of these strains were recorded using a time lapse fluorescent microscope.
