I worked at Kirkland's corporate headquarters in Nashville, TN. Specifically, I allocated for the decorative accessories, garden, and floral departments. I also analyzed our products and how well they were doing on a constant basis. I helped determine where products went and in what quantities based on various data such as weeks of stock, turnover, price points, and research on different regions of the country. I monitored our stores and determined the rankings they should be at based on many different factors. Kirkland's has almost 300 stores in 30 different states throughout the U.S. Show less

At ESD, my role was to be responsible for the accounting/financials for two of the engineering groups at our firm - the Mission Critical and Technology teams. These teams together consisted of at least 20 project managers. This position began as a new role that had never existed at ESD before. Because of it's success when I came into this position, it was then implemented in the other groups throughout the company. I was responsible for opening all projects in our accounting system and then tracking them throughout the duration of the project. Some of these projects were as large as $5 million. I was responsible for the maintenance of the projects, assisting in billing, contacting clients for project issues, reviewing contracts, and even meeting with some clients to create a better process between our firms. In addition, I would assist the project managers in changes throughout their projects, hold monthly meetings regarding outstanding receivables, and run multiple reports for the project managers to help them budget their projects. While at ESD, I also began a new process of maintaining and tracking all our projects on a level that would be easy for the accounting department and the engineers. In addition to these tasks, I also helped with numerous accounting duties in the department. Show less
